Ever since President Franklin Roosevelt signed a joint resolution of Congress in 1941, Americans across the nation have been setting aside the fourth Thursday in November as a day of Thanksgiving. However, the holiday itself has roots dating back to Plymouth in the 17th century. Thanksgiving isn’t solely important because of its history, but because of what it symbolizes—the act of setting aside a dedicated time as a nation to express gratitude together. Going around the table and sharing what you are thankful for is a common Thanksgiving activity. These are some of the things we are grateful for!
Family
The people in our lives make a huge impact on the quality of our existence. Anyone that we often spend the majority of our time with is considered our family. Whether your family is related by blood or by choice, their significance is not diminished. We are grateful for our families on Thanksgiving (and everyday).
Friends
In different seasons of life, you may have different friends, but some friends will always remain. It’s these types of relationships that we develop outside of our families that help make our lives more purposeful and enjoyable. We are grateful for all friends—new, old and every friend in between.
Home
Our daily lives are filled with helping people move from one home to another. We understand that the important thing isn’t so much the actual building or the house, but the feeling of home that you can carry with you wherever you go. We are grateful for the homes that shelter us, but also for the ability to have a true sense of the word that can move with us.
Health
Nothing brings the value of health into perspective like facing an illness or having a family member experience sickness. Last month, for Breast Cancer Awareness month, we donated a portion of every move to Breast Cancer research in honor of family members who have fought the disease. Every new morning and new breath is an opportunity to be grateful for good health!
Career / Purpose
Our purpose is to safely and efficiently move what’s most valuable to you! Sometimes a purpose leads to a career, while other times purpose is found in a career. We found our purpose and started a career in the middle of a difficult move ourselves. Working toward and for something worthwhile provides purpose. We are grateful for a purpose and career that give our life and work meaning and fulfillment!
Comforts
The things beyond the basics of shelter, food, health and family are comforts. And boy are we grateful for comforts like: air conditioning, washing machines, vacations and hobbies!
We hope that you and your family have a wonderful thanksgiving full of all the very things you are grateful for!
