Square Cow Movers is going national – at least they are getting national recognition. After being selected as a member of Yelp’s Small Business Advisory Council (YSBAC) for the third year in a row, owner Wade Lombard has been invited to give a speech at Yelp headquarters in San Francisco.
This is a huge honor for the young company that has gotten amazing feedback on how great it’s home moving herders are to work with. Here are a few things that people have been saying on Yelp:
Vasanti B. of Austin, TX said: “I was extremely impressed by the owners of the company, who came out to the “job-site” with the Kona Ice-ee Truck and made sure that the guys hydrated themselves with a delicious treat! They obviously are interested in retention and treating their employees well. I have never witnessed a service company do that before.”
Ashley H. of Austin, TX said: “These guys were amazing. Chuck M., Derrick H., and Jon G moved all of my antiques and a very upright piano with grace and ease. I had newly painted walls and not one smudge on a wall or floor.”
Paul R. of Cedar Park, TX said: “The entire experience from quote to move in was painless. Add in that I was on a business trip and left my wife solo. The move team assisted my wife above and beyond their normal service. For example they helped her corral her fish from the tank and transport both fish and tank to our new home. Everything arrived safe and they did a lot of setup as well. Great job guys, thanks!”
Fred S. of Leander, TX said: “After recently having a horrific moving experience with another Austin moving company, Square Cow was the exact opposite and about as good as it can get!”
Wade was originally chosen as a member of YSBAC two years ago and has since been asked to continue on as a vet. Recently Square Cow Movers also made the 2013 Austin Fast 50 list and in early 2012 the company expanded its spread to a second location in the Houston area. All said and done the company is doing better than ever and national organizations like Yelp are taking notice.
About Yelp and Its Small Business Advisory Council
Yelp is a search engine centered around user reviews – perfect for finding out what customers really think about a business. Through their ratings system it’s easy for users to see how companies stack up in a certain category so that they can make better choices as a consumer.
Yelp was founded in 2004 by Russell Simmons and Jeremy Stoppelman. In just 9 years it has grown to be one of the most trafficked sites on the Internet.
The Yelp Small Business Advisory Council took off in 2010 as a way for Yelp to get feedback and guidance from the small businesses that are actually on the site. The members are an invaluable resource for helping Yelp develop new services and features that make the site more useful for both consumers and businesses.
When selecting members of YSBAC, Yelp looks for the businesses that are the most passionate about keeping their customers happy, not the ones that are looking to make the most profit. The business owners that are selected are the best of the best and greatly respected among their peers. Out of the more than 1,000 businesses that applied to become current council members only 25 were selected – and Square Cow Movers was one of them.
Up next will be Wade’s big trek further out west to give a speech about the importance of caring about your customers first and foremost.
