We believe there is no such thing as over-communicating!  Putting as much information in the hands of our clients as possible and our commitment to transparency have enabled us to accomplish thousands of successful moves.  To help clients prepare for a move, we like to direct them toward our “Useful Documents”.  Selecting a mover can be tricky, so we are upfront about our Flat Rates and No Hidden Fees! We asked our branch managers, “What do you wish your clients knew?”  A big part of a successful move is preparation, so it’s unsurprising that many of our branch managers’ answers revolve around packing. Here is what your mover wishes you knew:

Proper packing is crucial to an efficient move.

Packing, Packing, Packing! If you don’t want to use our packing services, please have what you want moved packed properly and all boxes sealed and ready.  This will help with the safety of the move as well as the efficiency. Also, if you will have multiple stops or drop-offs for your move, different colored painters tape is a great way to mark what items go where.  Post-it notes don’t really work as they fall off easily.  Painters tape doesn’t fall off and I have never seen it mess up the finish on furniture items. – Ken Skadal

If every client knew the importance of being prepared for their move, the moves would be smoother.  One of the first things I tell potential clients is this: If it fits in a box than you should place it in a box.  This makes the move so much more efficient, saves tons of time, and it will ultimately cost less to perform your move.  I also say this, think of the game Tetris.  If all your items are predominately square, than its much easier for our herd to stack the truck and will minimize the potential for damage and make your move so much faster.  I hope this will help someone. – John Dowdy
