If you are moving in December, you may be faced with an additional challenge, where to hide Christmas presents. In the back deep dark recess of a closet or in the trunk of your car are no longer potential hiding places. During a move you and your family will turn your house upside down making sure every last thing is packed and will make multiple trips in your vehicle to help transport all your possessions. Where can you hide a present when every last corner will be under scrutiny?
- Make use of your workspace-Take the presents to work with you and then you won’t have the hassle of even moving them! If there is a corner of your cube, a spare desk drawer, or even a closet in your office, take advantage of these great hiding spots. Using your work place as a site to hide gifts is a good choice if your children rarely come to visit you at work.
- That’s what friends are for- Capitalize on the sentiment that your old neighbors will miss you by asking to store Christmas presents at their place. This is an especially good option if your neighbor has no kids. The house of a friend or relative will work just as well as a covert hiding place.
- In your new home- Skip the step of moving the presents from the old house to your new home, by hiding the gifts in your new house right away. If you are lucky enough to have access to your new place a few days before you move, go ahead and tuck those presents away in your new attic, spare closet, etc.
