cow feet in mud

Did you know that cows can run faster than horses in the mud?  Cows have an advantage because of our cloven hooves. Our toes spread and feet become wider so they don’t sink in boggy places.  Solid-hoofed horses sink deeper into the mud and cannot gallop as quickly.  Perhaps we should consider signing up for the Fun Mud Run this Saturday, May 11 at the Creekside Edge ATV Park.

This event is all about having fun, getting muddy and raising proceeds that will benefit the Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity.  The Fun Mud Run is designed for active individuals who want a lively and unique but messy experience.  There are two different distances, a 5K run and 10K run that take place over a muddy course with obstacles such as vertical and inverted walls, up and overs,  a belly rope ramp and X fence, crawling under wire and mesh, tunnels, mud pits, trenches, a sand bag carry, log carry, push ups, monkey bars, sit ups, rope swings, balance beams, log runs, teeter totters, knee high squares, a tire run and hop over lines.

Live music will entertain participants and spectators during both runs.  There is even a 1K Mini-Mudder Run for children between 7 and 12 years old.  Don’t let all the mud scare you, there is a wash-off area and changing station so race participants can enjoy the food and drinks from the many vendors after the race!  For more information: http://bit.ly/10gUfKY
