The Fall brings thoughts of the upcoming holiday season, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  As the end of the year approaches, Christmas related events are increasingly prevalent.    For many, Thanksgiving marks the day before one can begin officially decorating and shopping for Christmas, although Christmas music and commercials now start immediately after Halloween.  However, we want to encourage you to pause and celebrate Thanksgiving this year.  One rare event honoring this overlooked holiday, is the Thanksgiving Community Concert, occurring this Sunday at 2:30 PM at the Lake Travis United Methodist Church.  This is a unique concert because three different religious denominations and churches are uniting to provide musical entertainment and help raise funds for the Lake Travis Crisis Ministry Center.  Choirs from the Lake Travis United Methodist Church, the Emmaus church, and the Lakeway Church are combining to sing an exciting selection of hymns and anthems together.  The choirs will be accompanied by the Lake Travis United Methodist Church Handbells, violin, trumpet, organ and piano.  There is no charge for the concert, but a free-will, love offering will be collected after the performance.  100% of of the offering will benefit the Lake Travis Crisis Ministry which will use the funds to support their vital ministry to persons in crisis.  For more information: http://www.lakewaychurch.org/events/thanksgiving-community-concert
