springfest

You may have heard that Texas is like another country. Texas is quite large, and the Republic of Texas was once it’s own country, separate from the United States.  New residents of the Texas Hill Country may feel like they need an orientation to their new homeland.  The 2013 SpringFest is a great way for new Texas citizens to familiarize themselves with the culture of their new “home country”.

SpringFest is an all day affair held at the Backyard at Bee Cave on Saturday, April 27th from 11AM to 10PM.  While at SpringFest you will have the opportunity to participate in important Texas traditions and rituals, such as listening to live country music and sampling local, craft beers.  The next generation of young Texans can enjoy the Kidzone which is full of bounce houses, a dunk tank, rides, and even a reverse bungee!  The enduring spirit of Texas hospitality would not permit any newcomer to go without the life-giving sustenance and the ambrosia of Texas gods, BBQ.  There is a BBQ Cook-off with categories for chili, ribs, chicken, pinto beans, and even Bloody Mary’s. A boat expo will also be taking place concurrently.  For more information: http://www.laketravischamber.com/annualevents/springfest.aspx
