cow eggs

We’re not going to lie, Easter is a somewhat difficult time for us cows.  While everyone is singing “Here comes Peter Cottontail”, painting eggs, wishing others a “Hoppy Easter”  and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Easter Bunny, cows are being marginalized. Many people equate Spring with bunnies and eggs, but what about cute baby calves?  Colorful striped eggs are great, but who can compete with classic black and white cow spots? Personally, we think people focus entirely too much on egg production and not enough on a cow’s incredible ability to make milk!

Despite the unfair treatment and underrepresentation of cows during the Spring season, we still love celebrating Easter.  This Saturday bring your kids to the Lakeway City Park at 2:00 PM to participate in the the Lakeway Eggstravaganza.  There will be egg hunts for four different age groups starting with 7-8 year olds at 2:45 PM and ending with 1-2 year olds at 3:15 PM.  Activities at this event include: a petting zoo, glitter tattoo artists, a cookie decorating craft, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and live entertainment by Daren Peters and his scarlet macaw, Lauren.  For more information:http://www.cityoflakeway.com/Calendar.aspx EID=1381&month=3&year=2013&day=28&calType=0
