Are you still scrambling to pin down plans for Valentine’s week? You can’t let the most romantic week of the year in the most loving month in the year slip through your fingers! If you have recently moved to Austin or are planning to move before Valentine’s week, you may not know where to make reservations. Surprise your valentine with plans before the big day with a unique historically themed evening at the Texas Military Forces Museum.
The Texas Military Forces Museum doesn’t have a romantic ring to it, but wait to hear what they have planned. “As Time Goes By” is the theme for the World War II Valentine’s Dinner and Dance occurring on Saturday, February 9. The Sentimental Orchestra under the direction of Ted Connerly will perform while couples are invited to dance to 1940s swing music. The menu includes: penne and butternut squash gratin with sage cream sauce topped with walnut and brown butter streusel, hazelnut brownies, and herbed breast of chicken with mushroom ragout (which we recommend over the roasted inside round of beef). Not only will you provide your valentine with a romantic date, but you can add some extra aww to your evening because the ticket sales benefit a local non-profit museum.
