If you live in the Houston area or are moving to The Woodlands this Fourth of July you’re in for one of the rootinest tootinest Independence Eve celebrations in the country. Cythnia Woods Mithcell Pavillion Houston

All-American Musical Entertainment

For 23 years, Houstonians have celebrated our country’s independence at the Houston Symphony’s Annual Star Spangled Salute. This year conductor Michael Krajewski leads the Houston Symphony Orchestra as they belt out patriotic favorites and American classics like “1812 Overture”, “America the Beautiful” and “Olympic Fanfare and Theme”. Singing along is strongly encouraged!

There will also be two celebrity special guests helping the Houston Symphony fill your ears with sweet tunes. American Idol finalist (and Woodlands resident) Will Makar and Lekisha Jones will be singing the country’s praises at this free concert.

The music begins at 8pm, but make sure to get there early to stake out the best spot on the pavilion.

Early Events for the Whole Family

Before the music begins the Star Spangled Salute will already be well underway. The gates open at 6:30pm with the North Plaza serving as the party grounds. The whole family can enjoy hanging out with historical characters that will be roaming around, participating in arts and crafts and rounding up a few souvenirs.

The Venue

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is a beautiful outdoors venue with one of the most impressive amphitheaters in the country. Nestled in lush forest area in The Woodlands, The Pavilion has enough space to hold 16,550 spectators including both covered and uncovered reserved seating areas and hillside seating.
