NNO2012 - Square Cow Moovers

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2, people across the nation will be turning on porch lights, stepping outside and visiting with neighbors. National Night Out is a nation-wide event designed to bring communities together, promote crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen community relations with law enforcement and send the message that your neighborhood is a safe place to live. Too often families spend evenings in front of TV and computer screens and eat meals while distracted by phones. It is easy to pull the car into the garage and shut the door without ever speaking to your neighbors. If you have recently moved to a new neighborhood, you couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to become familiar with your new community. Lakeway police officers and firefighters will also be participating in this event. From 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM residents can go outside and visit with neighbors, police officers and fire fighters. National Night Out events will be occurring in Lakeway, Bee Caves, Briaf Cliff and other communities throughout the nation.
