Today is the last day of school for many Texas students, Happy Last Day of School to ya’ll!  The fall and going back to school are probably the last thing on many people’s minds. However, folks who are new to the area or moving to Austin this summer will want to think about registering/enrolling their children as soon as possible.  It may be harder to get ahold of someone or ask questions once summer really starts to kick-in.  Most school or administrative offices will have reduced hours, staff and may even be closed for the summer.  In summary, if you are new to the Austin area or moving to Austin this summer, get your kids enrolled stat!

You will probably need to bring some paperwork with you, such as a birth certificate, proof of address, etc.  Scheduling a doctor appointment or check-up is probably also in your future.  A new school district may require different shots or vaccines, or at least for everything up to date. If Junior is planning on playing sports a physical will probably be required. We know that it’s summer and you are ready to enjoy it, but go ahead and get the important things out of the way first.  To help you get your little ones ready for the next school year we have rounded up some popular Austin school district registration info.
