Out in Nature, but Close to the City
First, what is considered North Houston? Most locals consider North Houston to be the area north of Sam Houston tollway all the way up to The Woodlands.
The Woodlands was one of the first master-planned communities of its kind, and it’s considered one of the best places to live in North Houston. It’s a family-friendly community with a variety of upscale homes surrounded by protected woodlands, which is how the city got its name. The Woodlands is an extremely safe community with some of the best schools in greater Houston.
Like The Woodlands, Spring is also its own census-designated area in North Houston. It offers some of the most affordable North Houston real estate and a great commute time. Spring is a very diverse area with schools that consistently receive 8-10 ratings from GreatSchools.org.
