Focus has been put on developing the waterfront district, revitalizing the historic district, keeping the parks pristine and growing employment opportunities to keep unemployment even lower than the national average.

Education is also a high point of living here. The League City ISD is actually the Clear Creek ISD, which is in the 76th percentile nationally. When it’s time for higher education, the University of Houston – Clear Lake is just a few miles away.

There are plenty of free things to do in League City with the family – all you have to do is step outside! From strolling the Kemah Boardwalk to enjoying outdoor malls to hiking trails League City, TX is a suburban oasis.

Playing at the Parks

The League City Parks and Rec department has been busy expanding amenities and programs around the city, which include eight parks, a community pool, boat ramps and gardens. In addition to playing at the parks, families can enjoy the monthly Bay Area Blue Grass Concerts at Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center or the Concerts in the Park series at League Park. You can also spend the day learning about your surroundings at the Ned & Fay Dudney Nature Center.

The restaurants here can satisfy your hunger no matter what you’re in the mood to eat. Tookie’s has consistently been one of the best restaurants in League City and is known throughout Texas for its burgers. League City is also one of the best places to find fresh seafood dishes at Lilly Seafood or a number of other local eateries.

World-Class Shopping

If shopping is your guilty pleasure or you’re looking for daily essentials there are plenty of shopping centers to explore. Baybrook Mall and Tangers Outlet Houston are huge malls that have national retailers, local shops, restaurants, movie theaters and free concerts.

Getting Around League City

Getting From League City to Houston

League City residents have an easy 30-minute commute to downtown Houston. The quickest route is to:

  • Head north on I-45
  • Keep going for 25.9 miles through south Houston
  • Take I-65 or exit 47B east to get to downtown

Getting to Galveston Island

Galveston Island is a weekend getaway for people in League City. All you have to do is head south on I-45 for about 32 miles, cross the bridge over the bay and you’re there!

Getting to Kemah Boardwalk
