If you are new to the Lakeway area you may not know about an annual holiday tradition. Every year the City of Lakeway sponsors a spectacular holiday Trail of Lights for the community. The theme for this year’s Lakeway Trail of Lights is Lights on! Tonight, Friday November 30, the lights will be turned on for the first time in 2012. After the sun sets and the darkness has settled in, Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph will plug in the extensive light display to illuminate the night sky. From 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM families can welcome the Christmas season with a holiday celebration. Children have the exciting opportunity to visit both Mr. and Mrs. Claus! Rudolph, of red-nosed reindeer fame, will also make a special appearance at this event. The Trail of Lights kick-off holiday celebration is tonight, but Lakeway residents and visitors can enjoy the light display from December 1 through the end of the month. This event will occur in the Lakeway Activity Center parking lot and the area directly behind Lakeway City Hall. Even if you can’t come to the kick-off party tonight, the holiday season isn’t complete without a trip to the Lakeway Trail of Lights.
