If you are contemplating a move to Houston and desire a shorter commute to an office in the city, inner loop living may be for you.  Interstate 610, which circles the central business district of Houston, is known as the “Loop”.  The area inside 610 is the inner loop, while the area outside of 610 is the outer loop.

The area within the loop is a mixture of museums, historical landmarks, sports arenas (Astrodome, Compaq Center), medical facilities (The Medical Center), restaurants and shopping.  However, the Galleria, the major shopping center, is located in Westheimer, just outside the loop. Neighborhoods inside the inner loop include: The Heights, Montrose, Rice Village, Rice Military, Bellaire, Medical Center, River Oaks, Montrose, Midtown, Southside Place, Eastwood, Timbergrove, Southgate, Museum District, Braes Heights, Southampton, Garden Oaks, Woodland Heights, West University and Afton Oaks.

Living centrally within the loop is a great way to ensure you are close to everything.  The following resources can help you better research the most popular inner loop neighborhoods to find out which one is the best fit for you.

After you decide on a neighborhood and acquire housing, we would love to help with your moove to the inner loop!  Just contact us here.
