The 8th Annual Woodlands Waterways Arts Festival, ranked #9 in the nation by Greg Lawler’s Art Fair SourceBook, is taking over the Woodlands Town Center, Town Green Park and the Waterway this weekend, April 13th and 14th. This event is packed full of so much art, that if you don’t already live in The Woodlands area, you may want to hire some Woodlands movers to move you there!

The festival will feature art of all kinds, culinary arts, performing arts, and visual arts in a multitude of mediums: clay works, drawing, printmaking, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, digital art, metalworks and sculptures.

Your little ones can participate in a variety of hands-on activities including:  dreamcatchers, beaded necklaces, recycled maracas, tin foil necklaces, Japanese koi windsocks, whimsical fairy crowns, jing-tingler bracelets, and egg cup flowers. Kids can even get an early start as art connoisseurs at the Early Inspiration Gallery.  Children between the ages of 5 and 13, can pay $5 to enter the gallery and select a work of art of their own to take home.  The works of art were created and donated by area high school students and art teachers.  The proceeds will go towards purchasing art supplies for Title 1 schools.

If art isn’t exactly your thing, did we mention the food?  There will be live cooking demonstrations and food vendors at the Woodlands Waterways Arts Festival.  If food or art doesn’t catch your attention, perhaps Stella Atrois Beer or Barefoot Wines will… For more information: http://www.woodlandsartsfestival.com/default.asp
