The Lakeway Civic Corporation is sponsoring a Community Blood Drive this Saturday, September 22 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. This is your chance to help save lives by giving blood. Did you know that one pint of blood can save three lives? If you have type O- (“O negative”) blood you NEED to donate. People with O- blood are universal donors and are in high demand. Giving blood not only benefits others, but there are some great health benefits for yourself. Studies show that donating blood can help to decrease cancer risk, reduce risk of heart attack and replenish blood! Not only will you get satisfaction and warm fuzzy feelings from helping others, but you also get a free mini-check up. Before you donate blood you will go through a small health screening, this will allow you to know if some of your vital signs are in a healthy range.
